Welcome to Collectible Secrets

Welcome to Collectible Secrets.  I’m Mike and this is the place to find my current eBay listings (scroll down) and to check out the interesting collectible treasures (and other things) that I have come across during my MANY trips to garage sales, yard sales, estate sales, flea markets, rummage sales, and my own  and relative’s attics! If you are looking to buy, I think you’ll find some good stuff listed here.  If you are more interested in selling what you’ve already got, I’ll try to share some insights about what people are looking for and what they really don’t want to bother with (from my experience).  Hopefully, that will help you on your way to becoming a seller if you’re interested.

Second Hand Sales!

UPDATE: Although I’m still maintaining this site, I don’t currently have any eBay listings live. I’d recommend checking out the High End Memorabilia over there on the side if you want to see some amazing collectibles that are available right now. I’m telling you now, they are for people looking to invest in collectibles and memorabilia.

Depending on when you visit, you may or may not find items I’m selling showing here on the front page.  I’m not really a hard core seller anymore, so there may be times that I don’t have anything listed.  I still enjoy the hunt for interesting items though. There was a time when I would list hundreds of products per month.  I was a “Power Seller” and I was doing the whole “eBay thing” for hours and hours each week.  I’ve got a family and a full time job though, so I’m not currently listing tons of items and maintaining an eBay store like I used to back in the day.  Honestly, I’m looking for a balance between making some extra money for my family and still being able to spend time with them before my kids are all grown up!

What Do I Sell on eBay?

Nowadays I try to focus on items that fit two basic criteria.  The first is, do people want to buy it?

Nowadays I like to look for interesting items (like these Rick Springfield posters) that won’t entirely fill my game room.

Are they actually looking for this stuff?  The second is, can I store and ship it without causing myself too much grief? Those two guidelines come from my own early eBaying experience.  When I first starting selling on eBay, I bought almost anything old.  That was a big mistake.  I’m sure that the people having estate sales loved me because I’d load up my van at almost every one.  The problem was, my home began looking like a cross between a museum and an episode of Hoarders.  I also ended with a lot of stuff that really wasn’t collectible.  It was just old.  That’s no good.  I’ve spent a lot of time studying closed (finished) listings on eBay.  I love discovering new and interesting things that people collect.  I try to keep my eyes open for these items while I’m out shopping.  Obviously, I try to avoid stuff that people really aren’t interested in.  I still guess wrong sometimes, but I’m getting better at it! I’ll be adding posts to this site that I hope you’ll find interesting.  If you enjoy  your visit, please leave a comment or give a little social love down below the post. Thanks for visiting!
